LZPU Hosts CICSIC 2026 Indonesia & China-Indonesia Youth Forum
From News Center (Text by Ji Li & Wu Liping, Engineering Training Center (School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship); Photo by Li Jiannan & Wei Zheyuan, International Exchange Department) On May 28, the China International College Students’ Innovation Competition (2026) – Indonesia Regional Competition & China-Indonesia Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum, supported by the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education and the Promotion Association for Global Youth Innovation Leaders Community (PILC), co-hosted by Guangxi University and LZPU, successfully concluded in Indonesia. Invited attendees included Katiman, Assistant Deputy Minister of the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs of Indonesia; Yudil Chatim, former Education Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in China; Dharma, Director of Politeknik Manufaktur Bandung; and Revalin, Director of Politeknik Negeri Padang. Professor Chen Zhengzhen, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee and Vice President of LZPU, delivered an address via pre-recorded video at the award ceremony. A total of 587 teams and nearly 3,000 teachers and students from 15 provinces across Indonesia took part in the competition and forum.
During the competition, Indonesian officials delivered speeches and spoke highly of the event’s role in boosting youth exchanges and vocational education cooperation between China and Indonesia. They hoped to take the competition as an opportunity to advance in-depth cooperation between Indonesian universities and Chinese vocational colleges in innovation and entrepreneurship as well as industry-education integration. In his video address, Chen Zhengzhen briefed the audience on the development of the China-Indonesia Vocational Education Industry-Education Alliance. He noted that the alliance boasts 344 member institutions, making it the largest and most influential cooperation platform in the China-Indonesia vocational education sector. He suggested leveraging the alliance to regularly host such innovation contests and deepen bilateral youth exchanges. Running concurrently with the competition was the China-Indonesia Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum. Professor Xu Ming from the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship delivered a keynote speech titled AI Empowers Vocational Education, introducing LZPU’s achievements in industry-education integration and its practices of cultivating international innovative and entrepreneurial talents, which won high recognition from participating experts. Representatives from well-known Chinese universities, overseas branch campuses and industrial enterprises held in-depth discussions on topics including overseas talent training, brand globalization and internationalized school-running via industry-education integration. The forum has built an efficient communication platform for Chinese and Indonesian colleges and industrial entities, facilitating experience sharing and cooperation matchmaking.
This competition marks a key achievement of LZPU in advancing the internationalization of vocational education and supporting people-to-people exchanges under the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as an iconic practice led by the China-Indonesia Vocational Education Industry-Education Alliance to advance regional educational cooperation. In the preparatory phase, LZPU mobilized numerous Indonesian colleges and universities to organize student teams for registration, greatly lifting the event’s regional participation and global influence. Meanwhile, a special working group consisting of staff from the International Exchange Department, the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering was dispatched to Indonesia to oversee overall coordination of competition procedures, conference arrangements and participant services, ensuring smooth operation of all competition sessions. Going forward, LZPU will give full play to its role as the alliance’s leading member, refine the international training system for innovative and entrepreneurial talents, build a platform for innovation cooperation between Chinese and Indonesian youth, and further deepen cultural and industrial exchanges under the Belt and Road Initiative.
