At the meeting, Vice President Qiu Fuming accepted a plaque on behalf of the university honoring LZPU's active participation in the project. Additionally, Feng Chunlin, a teacher from the School of Automotive Engineering, was commended for his outstanding contributions as a member of the project's volunteer team.
The Bridge of Friendship: Guangxi Vocational Education Training in Cambodia project is conducted under the guidance of the Society Work Department of the CPC Central Committee and the leadership of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Party Committee and Government. It is jointly implemented by the Society Work Department of the CPC Guangxi Committee, the Guangxi Regional Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Red Cross Society of Guangxi, the regional Department of Education, and the Foreign Affairs Office. Each year, professional volunteers are dispatched to Cambodia to provide skills training, medical assistance, and educational support, while also helping to develop local volunteer organizations. By using volunteer service as a bond, the project serves China's overall diplomatic strategy and contributes to building a China-Cambodia community with a shared future in the new era. Feng Chunlin was among the first group of nine volunteers selected for the project, serving at the National Polytechnic Institute of Cambodia in Phnom Penh from November 11, 2025 to February 3, 2026. Throughout his tenure Mr. Feng maintained high standards and strict self-discipline, remaining dedicated to the mission of a cross-border vocational education volunteer. He adhered to the team's management protocols, observed all disciplinary guidelines, and proactively advanced various project tasks. His nearly three months of service earned widespread acclaim and high praise from the local community, fully demonstrating the rigorous, pragmatic, and dedicated spirit of Guangxi's vocational education volunteers.
In recent years, LZPU has leveraged its deep cooperation with ASEAN countries to create a "tailored service" model for the international expansion of vocational education. This has resulted in a new pattern of "bringing in" and "going global" characterized by mutual benefit and coordinated progress. In Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam, the university has partnered with industry leaders such as LiuGong, SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW), and CATL to establish six overseas education platforms. Domestically, it has built four global corporate training centers and two international industrial colleges. LZPU was also authorized by the Ministry of Education of Thailand to host one of only two "Language + Vocational Skills" training centers in China. Furthermore, the university led the establishment of the China-Indonesia TVET Industry-Education Alliance, which now includes 344 member institutions covering Indonesia's entire vocational education system. Most recently, the "LZPU-BNTU (Belarusian National Technical University) Joint College" was approved, making it the second Sino-foreign cooperative education institution established by a vocational undergraduate university in China.
Moving forward, LZPU will continue to utilize volunteer service projects like the Bridge of Friendship to deepen exchanges and cooperation with ASEAN countries. By continuously sharing high-quality vocational education resources and telling the story of China's vocational education development, the university aims to further support national diplomacy and contribute to a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future.
